It's August 1st and I've just noticed that traffic on this forum has risen by almost 50% over the last two months. April was quite a busy month, probably due to the pre-season anticipation and the number of 4-day games, but July has seen a steep rise. The number of posts has risen by about 50% month on month compared to last year as well. This is all good news and your participation makes such a difference. Don't afraid to post - any new posters are always welcome. There's been a glut of new members signing up over the last month or two as well, so please tell your friends and other Sussex supporters about this forum. The new website, www.from-the-sea-end.co.uk is in its infancy. If you have any ideas to make it better, don't be afraid to post here, message me or contribute in any way you think you can. Thanks LongStop GOSBTS

You need to lose that lockdown thing you do. Who cares if a thread veers off topic, so what? Not many people post, even regulars, so don't thwart a discussion just because it's gone from a Sussex match to the plight of the African Swallow.

I spotted one at the Sussex v Hampshire match; but I didn't mention it because I didn't know what thread to post on.

That's a European swallow you idiot. All subspecies of Kolpak Swallow have broadly similar characteristics, so the point is moot.
I began keeping an eye on your forum because there was a period a few years back when it was, strangely, the best resource for inside information/gossip/whatever on Kent cricket. The official club website has always been the last place Kent fans would expect to find actual news about their county, and the once thriving We Are Kent forum was in decline (it's now defunct). But around that time you had some contributors here with access to genuine intel about Kent, or who just had some thoughtful things to say about what was going on there.
That has also tapered off, and the Sussex forum as a whole seemed to have quietened down rather. You graciously made room on the forum for Kent chat and we haven't made enough use of that, so we're not really helping. But the main thing is that you've kept it bubbling along rather than just allowing it to atrophy, which is great. I don't think Kent is the only county without any kind of online forum, so hats off to the administrators and contributors who keep their county cricket forums alive. It's good to hear that your own forum is on the upward curve, and I hope it keeps going that way.
