On hol but had message saying he is the only out of cotract essex player who has not yet renewed. Key wants him at Kent to replace Stevens but if he leaves he will surely want div one to resuscitate England career. Not sure Sussex have the budget, though. And Monty may have warned him against! Enjoy the rest of this messed up season,guys.

I heard a rumour that he was to have a benefit next season which might entice him to stay.

I would have thought he was way down our list of priorities. Not that he isn't a very good player, and we don't exactly have a rock solid batting line up. However, we don't have too much room to manoeuvre in terms of budget, and we really need a couple of bowlers to ease the burden on Steve Magoffin

If Ravi wants to keep his name in the frame with England, surely a move to a Div 2 side is not going to help him at all. Surrey might just snap him up, as they've always got money to spend!

Surrey or Kent look likely options but I tend to agree with other posters that a move to division one is what he really needs to enhance his England prospects.
