Erm, yeah. I've booked the day off on Thursday to watch the first day of this so I'll likely post something to myself about it then. It'll most likely be about Root being a poor captain.
Note to self: Post something on here Thursday about Root being a poor captain. Go food shopping at lunch break.

Looks as if Wood might get the nod over Archer tomorrow to replace Anderson.

Another person. And a person who can see into the future. Who for out thee with thy mystical powers?
Well whoever produced this track wasn't thinking about the need for test cricket to be exciting - 103-2 after 51. Not a good watch. Frankly, I've no idea why all pitches aren't fast and bouncy. Bowlers prefer it, batters prefer it and spectators prefer it.
I hope we play Archer and Wood in the next game. Curran is not a good enough fourth bowler, and not a good enough batsman as a fifth bowler.
Du Plessis has tried to upstage Root in the incompetence competition by opening the bowling with a medium paced debutant instead of one of the best bowlers in the world. I hope the openers thanked him for the net. And I'll thank Hazey, whoever he is, for the line.
Ultimately, it's just nice to be sat in the warm watching cricket in sunny Port Elizabeth on a 55 inch TV on a Thursday morning/afternoon in mid January. Looking forward to retirement.
P.S. We should have played the leggie as well as the Bessie, it's a bit of a turner already.

Damn straight Frawdy.
Glad I bunked off work again today, been a great watch this morning with Stokes and Pope - who looks like another little Joe Root. Really tidy.
I think it's time to end the Buttler experiment, he ain't good enough at the longer form. Somebody shouted a very audible c**t at him earlier when he popped up on screen. It was funny, as was his batting after a few choice words from the Saffas. I think Bairstow is a better keeper and bat personally. Buttler is an amazing one-day player, that's where I'd keep him. Now he should be in Australia, April in India, and so on.
A lot of heated debate about Rabada. I'm in the Holding/Key camp - it doesn't matter if he's one of the best in the world, he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy.

He's a far better keeper than Buttler or Bairstow, and he's a 'proper' batsman.

I see a couple of fancy-dan outsiders have rocked up on my thread. Don't expect any special treatment from me you turncoats.
I'm bunking off to watch the cricket again tomorrow. Don't tell the boss, he thinks I've got aids. Temporary aids obviously.
I really wanna see Archer and Wood in this one. Drop the medium pacer, not the spinner.

My guess will be Jofra for Wood who apparently pulled up sore after the last test and Woakes for Bess.
It’s raining hard in Jo’burg at the moment, I hope you haven’t taken a day off to watch repeats Fraudster!

The rain was an onion in the ointment, for real bra. That's urban talk for 'no question, my friend.' I watched Key, Burns & Knight talk, then some live T20 cricket between NZ & India. Not too shabby I spose but maybe not worth infecting myself with a serious illness for.
Disappointed with this team. Can't believe they've dropped the spinner, 5 quicks is needless. Spinners like bouncy wickets too and all pitches deteriorate - for real bra. I think Root has a problem with Archer, judging by the way he talks about him in interviews. Send him back to Sussex for a season Joe.
Talking of problems, this SA attack looks close to useless. Expecting a big win here against the worst SA team I have ever seen.

When England hold the upper hand over an opponent, it is such a joy to watch. We're going to win this 4th Test bar poor weather.

Strongest South African XIV if Kolpaks banned: Elgar, Markram, Amla, Du Plessis, De Villiers, Bavuma, De Kock, Philander, Harmer, Abbott, Rabada, Morkel, Steyn and Olivier.
It is hardly surprising South Africa are so weak when they have been decimated by internationals flying on the flag of convenience and going where the money is.
