Strongest South African XIV if Kolpaks banned: Elgar, Markram, Amla, Du Plessis, De Villiers, Bavuma, De Kock, Philander, Harmer, Abbott, Rabada, Morkel, Steyn and Olivier.
It is hardly surprising South Africa are so weak when they have been decimated by internationals flying on the flag of convenience and going where the money is.
I think Amla, Steyn and De Villiers have definitely retired from international cricket anyway; Morkel, Philander too and Du Plessis can't be far off that. The big losses going forward are Harmer and Abbott, and maybe Ollivier. But how is this different from those rugby players from the Pacific islands who play for Australia, NZ and England (among other countries)? Unfair to criticise professional sportsmen for 'going where the money is' - it's what most of choose to do in our own careers!

Don't forget Donald & Pollock Sharkey.
Those Kolpak Saffas should be able to just play county cricket as legitimate overseas players and if called up any time, go off and play for SA too. Can't really fathom how that isn't the case.
Talking of decimation, look what S&F has done to my lovely thread - videos and hash rags and links everywhere. What an eyesore. It's like reading an electric shock. Not very pleasant.

Well all of those have, some many, many times. Surely they have the right to choose now? Incidentally stopping them choose who they want to play for and where is a bit akin to sportsmen/women from the Communist bloc having their careers "managed" by their country during the Cold War. I think we've passed that point now.

Have watched the first two T20 matches on Sky - what a great advert for T20 cricket these have been. Both games were nail-biters that ebbed and flowed. Looking forward to the decider tomorrow.

Today, a 12.30pm start on SKY Sports, forget the foul weather outside, snuggle up and watch what should be a fantastic finale. Can't wait.
PS: If you don't subscribe to SKY, sign up to NOW TV and pay a day pass of £9.99 to view the game. Well worth the money.
