Bh,
Experts? Exprats more like. Never trust an expert... never.
Are these the same experts who on January 12th after assessing the Chinese outbreak, ‘The World Health Organisation’ declared, “WHO does not recommend any specific health measures for travellers. WHO advises against the application of any travel or trade restrictions on China.” Six weeks later, on February 24th, American Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, toured San Francisco's Chinatown to send a message. "There's no reason tourists or locals should be staying away from the area because of coronavirus concerns." Pelosi said. "Come because precautions have been taken. The city is on top of the situation.” Last week, Professor Tom Pike from Imperial College has set UK death total at 5,700, even though the Conservative Government has stated that anything under 20,000 deaths would be a success.
Therefore, who are these World health experts that say 'no Covid 19 intervention would result in something between 20 and 40 MILLION deaths.' To go on record and say "20 to 40 million deaths" is pure folly and extremely irresponsible and fear-mongering. Please tell us the 'expert/s' who said this.
As for 'normal flu' what is your criteria? Often, when people catch a cold they refer to it as 'a flu'. "Man-flu" is a derogatory term for simply feeling tired alongside experiencing aches and pains. If you research the three major pandemics during the 20th century and the one in 2009, breathing problems is a common denominator. That is what usually kills people, however horrific and cruel. The lungs are attacked and then collapse. The present Covid-19 virus is a little different because it rarely affects young people and the extremes of it are, you either catch a minor cold like Health Minister Matt Hancock or you end up in intensive care unable to breathe. Old age and/or underlying health problems are also common amongst all pandemics for adding to the death tally.
I am not saying this is 'a snowflake reaction'. Of course not. I am saying it is a 'media reaction' to make lots of money. The ultimate cynicism and why I loathe the MSM so much.
Fb,
I am pleased we beg to disagree. Life would be so boring if everyone agreed on everything.
