Not really Mike as Stokes bats at 4 and so a batsman like Crawley would be a more likely replacement. We already have four seamers in Anderson, Broad, Woakes and Archer plus Curran and Wood in reserve.

Rumours around that Anderson is about to announce his retirement from international cricket. And Archer has not been very impressive in recent test matches. He rarely seems to hit 90mph, which I thought was his USP.

Rumours around that Anderson is about to announce his retirement from international cricket. He certainly should after this series, or this summer. If he doesn't someone needs to take the decision for him - the coach, the captain, the wife... someone. Job done Jimmy, very well done. Take hundred grand a year to commentate and play golf instead.

Neither Robinson nor Jofra selected to play in the second Test.
Which means we could have had Ollie for the Kent game. 😡

Jofra Archer and Ollie Robinson are both left out of the England team facing Pakistan. I suspect that they won't be allowed to play at Hove this weekend as they will need to remain in the bubble. Lose-lose situation, as they say.

Right call on Archer, he's not doing what he's there for simply through lack of effort and bad attitude as far as I can see - from my wonderful couch to the massive tele. Should've brought in Wood though.

Bad light thing's ridiculous. We got spotlights, batsmen walking to the crease like Robocop - lose the light meter altogether otherwise it's another kick in the teeth for Tests. The other formats are not really friends of the Test.

Spinners on, lights on, protection on, and they still go off for light. Gotta change.
I've seen club cricketers turn the ball more than Bess, he's very ordinary. Surly old Archer isn't doing what he's in the team to do, we have 85mph bowlers. Root's got him bowling short spells and he's still bowling 85 - no good, should have played Wood. That rhymed and you know it did. Wood & Rashid in, lameoids out. Next test will be away I presume so this whole attack out I reckon.
