Who me? Nobody knows what the hell the comp is yet Flash - north & south, winners meet, is it? Like T20? Or has that changed too? I'm out the loop this year.

A bad idea a regional 4 day tournament. With the 50/50 and 20/20 regionalised, would mean we would see the same counties all the time, every season. Would never see teams like Notts, Lancs and Yorks. Cricket would become very boring to watch.

Cricket would become very boring to watch. It wouldn’t be regional, it would be 3 groups of 6 which would be seeded for the start. Each side plays each other home and away then there’d be knockout rounds so that each team played at least 14 games against 7 different opponents.

Each side plays each other home and away then there’d be knockout rounds so that each team played at least 14 games against 7 different opponents. The Times article only refers to a 5-day final. In other words, 10 games for each county plus one further game. A knock out phase would mean three weeks being put aside while the eight best teams battled it out. Presumably, the other ten counties would be unoccupied or play friendlies. It strikes me that this is a further reduction of four day cricket. If it’s played during a damp April and May, it could be a real non-event. Sadly, I am already considering cancelling my membership if this goes ahead.
