Totally agree about CJ. Jof will miss the start of the IPL due to his England commitments and CJ should have stayed with us at least until Sunday. Shows where his priorities lie. I don't know the difference in earnings between playing for Sussex and playing in the IPL, but I suspect it is significant enough to make most people choose the IPL option if they are honest. I agree. I thought we'd long passed the stage where we believed that a professional cricketer should put his county before his playing career. A cricketer who is any good will become a freelance and/or an international player. His county does not control his career, and this is generally accepted nowadays. Discuss!

Of course the IPL comes first for players but how about Cj thinking I missed half the season due to my op and I will at least stay with Sussex until Sunday and thank them for paying my wages while I was injured? Silly me what a ridiculous thing to say.

Silly me what a ridiculous thing to say. Do we really know what CJ’s salary arrangements were when he was injured? He may be paid on an appearance basis. We don’t know - or do we?

I agree with the sentiments but aren’t there logistical issues, such as he had to fly out on a particular flight due to bubbles etc?
