Man U v Man C at cricket at Old Trafford Cricket Ground in 1968 to raise funds for Ken Higgs Testimonial. Fans took their over exuberance on the terraces to the cricket ground. Alex Stepney and Joe Corrigan turned out for their respective teams. Due to the higher representation of Irish and Scots players in the Man U team like Bestie, Crerand, no show Denis Law and no show Tony Dunne, City had the wood on them winning easily. Mark Walton was a goalkeeper for Cardiff City and Norwich City. He was in goal for a FA Cup Semi Final when playing for Norwich. He played Minor Counties cricket and has recently joined the Glamorgan CCC backroom team. the former l.pool and cup winning Coventry keeper Steve olgrizacch in in 80s who played for Shrewsbury minor counties batsman. |

Back in the 70s quite a few English football clubs had sweaties playing in goal;
Leeds, David Harvey, David Stewart
Liverpool, Tommy Lawrence
West Ham, Bobby Ferguson
Arsenal, Bob Wilson (plastic Scot)
Chelsea, Tommy Hughes (wasn't he dire)
