When it comes to providing Test cricket around their country.
I haven't counted but there must be at least 6 current test venues in the North Island matched by a similar number in the South. Some cities like Aukland have more than 1 ground although these sometimes double up for rugby but that's also the case in Australia with their multipurpose stadiums, the SCG being an exception. We're blessed in the UK that our cricket grounds are used for that purpose. Rugby or football at Lords?! The members would stage an armed mutiny covid or no covid.
The Aussies living in Cairns and Darwin in the North of Oz have got a pretty rum deal being deprived of Test cricket. Canberra too only has the occasional one dayer. And now that the WACA in Perth has gone the city has yet to show Test cricket at their new purpose built stadium. Bet all the British ex pats who have emigrated there are crying into their Fosters.
