It seems like a strange game in Galle. Having skittled Sri Lanka out, England piled on a big score, but now we and now we are labouring to reach 74 to win. Funny old game. Sri Lanka do seem to be rather weak at the moment, yet they made a good comeback. If they had scored another 100 in the first innings and we might have been struggling.
As for individual performances, Root's double century is good against any international game and Bess and Leach have each managed a five-wicket haul.

Not entirely straightforward for England tomorrow; 4th innings on a turning pitch, facing top class spinners. I'll be staggered if we don't win, but Sri Lanka's dreadful batting in the 1st innings has been the key to England's 'superiority'.

What's with the 'superiority'? Does the woke in you want the word banned? Especially in former colonies eh?
Two ordinary sides frankly. Without Stokes, Archer and a decent spinner or two we haven't got a lot going on.

Oh yeah, I get it now, you're saying they're pants. Although what's with the wink then? Were you trying to slay two birds with one stone?
Anywho, inevitable win. I assume Stokes and Archer will be back for the much stronger test of India.
Think we would be missing a trick if we didn't look at Stone in the next one. Thanks to my job burning down I can look forward to watching it... from 8. Not getting up earlier than that, no way Pedro.

10 wickets for the England seamers when Sri Lanka batted for the first time and ten wickets for the spinners in the second innings. All 14 English wickets fell to Sri Lanka’s spinners. When did this last happen?

And Joseph Root who piled on the runs in the 2 Tests strangely came closer to setting a bowling record as his 2-0 made him (incredibly) only the second bowler in Test history to take more than one wicket without conceding a run. Benaud took 3-0 against India over 60 years ago.
