One Test and a batting average of 250.00. Eat your heart out Jason Gillespie. Even the great Graham Gooch couldn't surpass that on his debut. He, of course, got a pair on début! NB Mayers went into the Test with an average of under 29. Gooch ended with a first class average of jsut under 50 (and a Test one of 42.5 over 118 Tests). I'll be surprised if Mayers matches that. My guess is Mayers career will be a little more like Kuruppu's. But time will tell! |
