With back-to-back games, this thread has been launched without knowing the result at Bristol. Kirtley has announced the same squad for the two games v Gloucestershire and Hampshire. The squad is Luke Wright (captain), Will Beer, Ravi Bopara, Oli Carter, Henry Crocombe George Garton, Travis Head, Chris Jordan, Archie Lenham, Tymal Mills, Delray Rawlins, Phil Salt, Aaron Thomason, David Wiese.
Hampshire lost their first game in this season's T20 Blast with a 38-run defeat at Canterbury. Chasing 177, they started well with the first wicket falling on 51 after 6.1 overs. The 5th wicket fell after 14.5 overs with the score on 94 by which time Hampshire were well behind the required rate. Joe Weatherley was top scorer with a brisk 37 while Matthew Crane shone amongst the bowlers taking 3/23 from his four overs.
Last season, Hampshire had a surprisingly poor T20 campaign winning only 2 of the 9 games that were completed. In the corresponding fixture last season, Sussex beat Hampshire by 13 runs with Luke Wright scoring an impressive 83.
Can Sussex repeat this result? We are just going to have to wait and see, I guess.
Upcoming Southern Group fixtures
Glamorgan v Essex (Cardiff) - Sunday Kent v Gloucestershire (Canterbury) - Sunday Surrey v Glamorgan (Oval) - Monday

Tymal Mills rested in the last match because he can’t play back to back games because of his back!
We’ve got Bopara only playing white ball and completely under performing as he did yesterday. Then we’ve got a specialist T20 bowler who can’t bowl more than 4 overs in 2 days! Why are we wasting money and pandering to these players? They can’t be cheap!
Didn’t need them yesterday, don’t need them today but I bet they both play, as will Rawlins and Head but at least they play red ball too.

Time for him to retire. He is taking a youngster's place. Bopara came with a big profile. Able to bowl in 2s games, but not when it matters in the 1s. Bowl tonight Bopara or leave. Rawlins, superb fielder, needs to show some game management. We all want him to do well, but the frustration is building. If he can't learn, let him go. Time for Head to turn up. Looking forward to a Sussex win.

Without Luke Wright, I can’t help feeling that we need Phil Salt to get a decent score. However, it would be good to see Head or Bopara post a 60 or 70. Fingers crossed. Off we go soon!

Superb bowling again from Garton going at 2 an over.
Archie Lenham what a find!
Tymal isn’t as good as he thinks he is! Poor from Jordan today.
155 to win.

What a pleasure it is to see Bopara finally finding his form. Even Head discovered some runs. When these two are playing well and... with Wright back, what an exciting batting line-up Sussex have. Edit100 partnership - what an enjoyable game to follow. Now Ravi gets his 50. The best aspect of the evening. EditA stunning performance from Sussex. One of the easiest wins in recent T20 memory. Salt in fantastic form and Bopara has finally joined the party. Great to watch. Roll on Essex, Surrey and Somerset.

Quality game, a few cracks in the bowling department but hats off to Lenham to come back with those figures after dropping a not too difficult chance & Garton was outstanding with the ball again.
