With two good wins in the bank, Sussex head to Chelmsford to meet Essex. Essex finished last season's competition with only two wins from nine completed games and consequently failed to qualify the latter stages of the competition. This season, Essex started well with an impressive win against Somerset where they chased 185 and won with 7 balls and 3 wickets to spare. In that game, Jimmy Neesham scored 53 off 26 balls to steer Essex home.
The win at Taunton, though, was followed by two defeats. In the home defeat to Hampshire, Essex fell 13 short of the visitor's target of 155. This was followed by a defeat to Glamorgan in which Glamorgan passed the Essex target of 153 with 7 wickets in hand.
The Essex batsmen have yet to shine this year, although the bowling of Simon Harmer and Sam Cook has been economical.
Last season, Sussex won and lost to Essex in the T20 Blast. Can Sussex make it three in a row? We are just going to have to wait and see, I guess.

Superb performance again as Sussex go top. Good to see Luke Wright back in the team; the batting looks so much stronger with him there. Fancy a couple of red ball games, Luke?

Bloody hell! I am out tonight at an event and unable to follow the game, only to find out after getting home that we won with 6 overs to spare. Time to pinch yourself... once again. Wright takes over the Salt mantle, Head scores more runs, even Bopara gets a wicket, while George just keeps on giving and our run rate soars. "Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy?" Who cares as "Easy come, easy go..." let's enjoy it while the momentum lasts.

Salt is averaging 162.00 with a strike rate of 154
Garton has 8 wickets at 7.62 with an economy rate of 5.08.
Keep going lads!
