Sussex warm up for the Royal London One Day Cup with a one-day friendly at home to Oxfordshire. Perhaps, the most interesting aspect of the day will be the team that Sussex field for this game with so many of the players off to The Hundred. One assumes that this will be the team that will form the basis of the side that competes in this year's competition.
It should be a comfortable win as the side is likely to be comprised predominantly of the young guns who have competed in the County Championship. Sussex supporters who are lovers of the quick-fire stuff may be turning their attention to The Hundred. Others may be hoping that Sussex's young team will be well-equipped to face other counties that are stripped of some of their best players. For others, it may be time to switch off until the T20 Quarter Finals or the second stage of the County Championship. At least the sun is shining.

Thinking about a possible team for this game and also the RLODC as a whole:
Haines Orr Van Zyl Head Carter Brown (C) (+) Thomason Beer Meaker Lenham Crocombe
Coles would be in and around the team but not sure if he will play for Oxfordshire for this game or Sussex ? Interested to see people’s thoughts on our chances in the comp and the players that could be involved ??

No need for the likes of Meaker, Brown, VZ or Thomason as far as I'm concerned. Release the kids, the rest of them that is, Coles, Clarke, other Lenham, Hunt, Atkins, Sarro, Carson, Ibrahim and any others we can find at Cub night.

Another ton for Tom Haines. I’m not sure how many that is this season but he’s really impressed. Sussex’s young guns could do ok in the RLODC.

A county cap surely must be around the corner now. I think we could do alright in the 50 over competition with Lenham, Ibrahim, Coles, Atkins, Carter, Crocombe, Hunt, Sarro, Carson, Clark, Orr, Ward and Haines all aged 22 and under. I am not really sure the others really bring much to the party. I am assume Archer was only playing to give him some playing time before the hundred.
