Very sad. I remember watching Ted battering the Middlesex bowling at Lords in the late 50s. He stood out from the crowd even then. RIP Ted.

I share the sentiment. I had the great honour of interviewing Lord Ted a number of times. They say, "Never meet your hero, you will be disappointed." I did and he surpassed all my expectations. RIP. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/58337771

Ted was the reason I started following Sussex from afar after watching the 1962-63 Ashes series as a young boy. RIP Lord Ted.
