Her progress has been almost surreal. Is she going to be one of those 'once in a generation' sporting legends? We await the final on Saturday. . .

Her opponent in the final is also a teenage sensation who has come from nowhere so it's not as if Raducanu can play the everything to gain and nothing to lose card because her inexperience and status as "new kid on block" is equally matched.
Might be better if she doesn't win because in the case of Naomi Osaki, her grand slam victories at such a tender age have brought pressures with which she's unable to cope.
I wonder how all the other British women tennis players who've been plying their trade on the circuit for several years feel about this young upstart making such headway which is beyond their abilities.

YES!!
Not the youngest Gland Slam winner by a long chalk, nine younger including Bog Off Borg, and teenage girls like Seles, Sharapova, Sanchez-Vicario, Austin, Hingis and Doris Decker. But unprecedented as a Qualifier to win such a prestigious event. The greatest British sporting accomplishments in our lifetimes...except when liquidskin and joe90 put on a record 10th wicket partnership of 3, all extras, for St Cuthberts 4th XI to draw the game against Linbury Court prep school, where Darbyshire was scorer, Jennings bowled the final over and Old Wilkie who was umpiring missed the plum LBW to deny Linbury Court victory.

I gather Emma loves watching speedway and heard some doubts about the authenticity of the US Election while in the USA. Still, she’s not married yet. It’s going to take a while for her to marry four times.

It's all gone south since that heady day 21 months ago as she's never got anywhere near a GS final and has been plagued by injuries and inner turmoil.
I always wondered whether should give up tennis after winning the US open, then focus on education at Oxbridge having attained good A'levels and live her life in civvy street where she could make a career for herself.
It looks like her tennis journey peaked far too early, never reaching that summit of achievement again always chasing the elusive dream, following in the familiar path of Jelena Ostapenko, Bianca Andreescu and Ana Ivanocovich.
A little anecdote about my tennis career which ceased after I left boarding school in Bath at 16. The school tennis captain was looking for a 3rd pair to play for the school house. I volunteered myself and mate (male) who I really fancied, to receive his withering response "but you're not good at anything" which annoyed me immensely because I had at least made the 2nd XI cricket team.
Anyway, due to no other offers, we played and won our match. When this b*****d tennis captain came and watched he could see that I was much better than he thought I was going to be and should have been one of the 1st pairs!
I knew I was well above average because before when I was having a friendly game against my mate, Will Goodsman, he asked why I had chosen cricket over tennis as he being in the U16 team said I was as good as the rest of the team squad.
