Yeah we should be playing a bunch of 20 year olds in the Blast as well so we can complete the hat trick of finishing bottom of all 3 tables next season.

Just one Randall, instead of Bopara. Someone scoring two or three 50s out of what, 30 odd short form innings is fair game for criticism.

Good thing we rested our players for three weeks. Just think of the thrashing we would have got.

Lots of evidence of poor management this season.
I just hope we’ve secured the signature of Garton, he’s the only player to come out of the game with any credibility.
Overs two and four of their innings lost us that game.
Bye Salt, take Rawlins with you.
Very very disappointing.

I thought the difference in the body language of the two sides was obvious. Something looks very wrong.
What was also interesting was Sky's post match interview with Luke Wright - the tone and some of the content wasn't like the old Luke.

Our T20 side has looked - how can I put it - fragile? stretched? - all season. I’m not saying we haven’t done well to get this far just because we lost today, because we’ve turned in some great performances at times. But we have been at least a batsman short all competition, end rely so much on the top 2. Our team just about picks itself, but no-one quite knew who our 11th player should be - either from the 4 in the 14-man squad or indeed from outside the 14.
So with Salt and Jordan going, we will suddenly look a bit weak. Who opens with Luke? Who replaces Jordan? What do we do with the overseas spots? Going to have to be some recruitment to patch this team up as well as the four-day side,

Overseas bats at 3 and 4. 12 years of T20 losers. www.thecricketer.com/Topics/banner/last_dance_ends_familiar_fashion_sussex_generation_nearly_men_t20_blast.html#Judging by previous marketing post by Sussex I am expecting to see a headline along the lines of Sussex lose narrowly to the eventful winners.

Come on everybody don't be so down-hearted. Sid the Shark came second in the Mascot Race. Woo-hoo!

I didn’t expect us to win the T20 Blast, to be honest, although luck plays it part in T20, so we always had a chance. However, our T20 team is weaker than previous years and looks likely to be weaker still next year. Next season, qualifying for the finals will be unlikely without new recruits.

I totally agree. Laurie Evans was a significant loss, and Danny Briggs used to keep things tight AND take wickets, and obviously Rashid Khan not being available for the Finals Day weakened both our bowling and batting. Next year without Salt and CJ (the latter in particular a HUGE loss) will be very tough. The arrival of Steven Finn will do little to alleviate matters.

There’s talk of the Blast being in a block next year with the quarters semis and final coming straight after the group stages. That would help in counties being able to keep their O/S for the whole comp. I don’t agree re Jordan, I think he flatters to deceive. His averages this year are….well….average. Fynn H-P will come in to replace him.

I'm assuming the T20 Blast qualifying matches will from second week of June to second week of July or thereabouts.

Salt is definitely the harder spot to fill, who knows what will happen with Archer next season - maybe he doesn't walk straight back into the England team and we get to see him in action down here. Would love to see him play in the Blast again and he's a more than adequate replacement for Jordan.
