Selman's statement when his departure from Glamorgan was announced was pretty clear that he is returning to Australia. For the winter or permanently? I cannot see another available experienced county batsman. If we cannot find an experienced domestic batsmen it is imperative we sign two overseas batsmen to bat in the middle order.

Something doesn't add up with the Northeast story. I wish him well at Glamorgan. I can't help thinking that Sussex have dodged a bullet. Let's see. We don't need "problem" cricketers.

We have our 3. Did you not notice him during the last season? Although I'm not Andyb, I can assure you that the top three will be Haines, Orr and Brown next season, and Carter will keep and bat at six. The top three is the hardest thing to cement so if we ignore what we have just seen we will be beyond stupid. Our leaders may be stupid at times but they cannot be beyond stupid, I doubt. It's simple, two OS bat-people. Or whatever they're called.
