Your link is faulty. Here is the actual one. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-10708983/Up-12-former-Yorkshire-staff-charged-ECB-following-Azeem-Rafiq-racism-scandal.htmlWow! The ECB are doubling down and have gone on the offensive, buoyed by the success of the recent Yorkshire Members' vote. No doubt, there is huge pressure coming from the Government to take action, but at this rate English cricket could be torn apart. These are BIG names. My question is this. Does Azeem Rafiq have actual evidence of his claims? Did he record the alleged racist comments on tape? Otherwise, for some players, it is his word against theirs, as only a few have admitted to it and apologised. That certainly won't stand up in a court of law. Therefore, I wonder if this is bluster from the ECB as a threat, a warning to those former Yorkshire staff who are planning to take Lord Patel to court for unfair dismissal. Sue and we will counter-sue!

Sue and we will counter-sue! Thanks for remedying the faulty link. I don't think this is up to Azeem Rafiq at all - he has been a whistle-blower and now an investigation will take place. And many court cases come down to 'he said vs he said' - but that doesn't stop juries reaching a verdict of guilty.

The little wet minge. It was hardly worth getting the popcorn out for. Wouldn't want him next to me in Ukraine or somewhere.
And as for Rafiq...

Hey that's what I'm here for. That and hammering weak, wet, spoilt, privileged liberals like yourself.
As for Ukraine, I wouldn't even go their for a *** holiday. It's full of corruption, Nazism, violence and crime. And the weather's s**t.

You clearly know nothing about Ukraine, and even less about me.

What I said is all over every rag, even horrendous ones like the Guardian. No misinformation here. That they're gonna challenge it just means it will go to a tribunal and roll on for ages, no doubt.
They won't win, Gale will win because Gale referring to a friend as a yid 12 years ago is irrelevant to the Rafiq case. And his colleagues too will be proved innocent for the same reason. They were wrongly scapegoated with zero grounds. Some of them weren't even at the club at said time.

Fascinating. Let the battle commence between the ECB and the Yorkshire cricketers and staff who have either dared to bring "unfair dismissal charges" to court or are threatening to do so. Has cricket ever seen anything quite like this where the sport's governing Body is bringing its own members to legal hearings for "bringing the game into disrepute", as an attempt to stop Lord Patel from potentially going bankrupt? How will other professional cricketers and Yorkshire supporters view this, some might suggest, brutal and extraordinary step? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/61808315

I think one of them is playing for us. Likely completely lost on the management rather than a stand of support I imagine.
What a kafuffle. And a carry on. All because someone decided they didn't like their relationship with their mates 10 years ago. It's a shame the lad didn't go on to be good at cricket as none of this would be happening.

An interesting news piece from SKY NEWS that throws further light on the Yorkshire racism controversy and the recent actions of the ECB. The critical comment, "...and a few of them (17 sacked Yorkshire staff/players) have (already) won their cases over unfair dismissal..." sums up the fiasco English cricket now finds itself in. This has become the grubbiest, the very worst of politics, where the ECB is attempting to save face as the puppet of Julian Knight's DCMS committee and therefore the Government, as well as to stop the potential outcome of Lord Patel, the political pawn in all of this, from having his *rse sued. So these trumped up charges "of bringing the game into disrepute", where Vaughan, Hoggard and others have stated over and over again, they were not racist towards Rafiq, where it comes down to their word against his, are farcical. The problem being the establishment judicial system could side with the Government and ECB and the financial awards already agreed with Andrew Gale and others could be overturned and anyone else who wishes to sue Yorkshire CCC and Lord Patel would be thwarted from doing so. If the Government/ECB win their case with great assistance from the presiding judge, the ill-feeling this may cause is untold. Never tangle with the establishment. They usually win. This would have made a great story-line for a Judge John Deed TV episode. After intense pressure placed on Deed by the establishment forces, he then rules in favour of the 17 Yorkshire staff and players. Now that would be something. www.youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=3DYYHRE26zc

BBC chiefs are under pressure to drop Michael Vaughan again after he was charged by the ECB following Yorkshire's racism scandal, with some feeling he should be stood down until case is concludedPoor bloke, you've gotta feel sorry for him. The guy has already attended the woke re-education camp to learn about his past racist misdemeanours which he has consistently and flatly denied. What does Vaughan do next? Ask Rafiq to publicly whip him in the Headingley stocks, while he screams out forgiveness. What degree of public humiliation must he still endure? Vaughan was forced to leave his popular BBC show Tuffers and Vaughan Cricket Show after the broadcaster "rebranded the title name". He has set-up his own podcast entitled The Vaughany and Tuffers Cricket Club. What an utter farce this has all become and what an embarrassment for the ECB. If they do lose the case, the Board's power and respect will dissipate, so it is a must win for them. www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-10924891/BBC-chiefs-pressure-drop-Michael-Vaughan-charged-ECB.html
