randall,
The Guardian have been covering it ever since the story broke a year ago
The difference is that since early September 2020, the Yorkshire Post has published approximately 24 stories on the subject and The Guardian 9.
Chris Waters did an excellent job covering this story right from its beginnings.
You'd expect the local Yorkshire newspaper to be onto the local news first. When the issue eventually makes the national news then of course the national papers take the story up. As you've been researching articles numbers, how many articles did the other nationals publish on this subject?

I would suggest you carry out your own research, if interested. I only checked the Yorkshire Post and The Guardian figures. Each search engine might offer slight variations.
The Post has close to three times the daily circulation of The Argus which isn't saying much.

I'm not bothered about researching this. I'm just observing that your denigration of The Guardian seems to be a knee jerk reaction on the grounds that it has the temerity to be a 'left wing' newspaper!

The Daily Mail, the Telegraph and the Express (for example) are far more right wing than the Guardian is left wing. .

You can tell a right winger by the way they avoid talking about "right wing newspapers".

Yorkshire Tea,Tetley's, and David Lloyd Clubs have now also abandoned YCCC.
The tsunami of defections must prompt board changes at YCCC long before they get to the parliamentary hearing. They have so many fences to mend, and they need to bite the bullet before the weekend, IMO.
Down with self-entitled smug blazers, I say!

The Guardian will have wet themselves when this story came about. Literally wet themselves in glee, just like the despicable race-baiting Independent. What's worse? Name calling or rape and exploitation of a child? We know what the Guardian and the Independent think.
To me, it's banter, but I'm not wet. To most, it's racism. These days, with the movement, good luck Yorkshire. Their man who S&F highlights has been very naïve. He needed a patsy, of some sort.
As well as well-voiced Yorkies (can he say that, Yorkies? Ya racist mate), Vaughan and Boycott, I'd like to know what the likes of Root, Bairstow and Rashid have to say. Must have seen or heard it. Same age group roughly.
I once had an Asian mate who I regularly called p*ki, and he regularly called me pinky. Not in front of other people though. Names names names. I'm pretty sure there's a well known saying about names. They are only names. They're not rape and murder.

I think this is more about institutionalised racism over a long period of time by Yorkshire CCC rather than a few badly chosen words between two players.
Gary Ballance’s statement, where he acknowledges his part in it, is only part of the problem. I just hope he isn’t made a scapegoat for the whole sorry affair.

I think there is a broader misunderstanding of what racism is. I think its far too common you here words like "I've got an Asian mate and ive called this that the other but hes my mate so its fine" is are part of the problem and not the solution.

I'm pretty sure there's a well known saying about names. They are only names. They're not rape and murder. I have an African friend who went to a well known public school. He told me that there was a lot of 'banter' about his race. He used to respond by 'bantering' back. He now believes that this banter was deeply destructive to his self esteem and sense of belonging. So I believe that there is no such thing as harmless banter when it comes to race. Also good to see some of you standing up for the Guardian. I despair of the ring wing press in this country

Per BBC: Yorkshire County Cricket Club has called an unscheduled board meeting for Friday to discuss the ongoing fallout from Azeem Rafiq's racism allegations. What is there to discuss - other than the least damaging way of falling onto their collective swords? Who wouldn't want to be a fly on the wall at that meeting?
