Breaking news from BBC:
Yorkshire has been suspended from hosting England matches following the racism allegations made by former player Azeem Rafiq.
The England and Wales Cricket Board says the ban will last until the club has "clearly demonstrated that it can meet the standards expected".
Yorkshire's Gary Ballance, who has admitted using racist language towards ex-team-mate Rafiq, has been suspended indefinitely from England selection.

The Guardian will have wet themselves when this story came about. Literally wet themselves in glee, just like the despicable race-baiting Independent. What's worse? Name calling or rape and exploitation of a child? We know what the Guardian and the Independent think. To me, it's banter, but I'm not wet. To most, it's racism. These days, with the movement, good luck Yorkshire. Their man who S&F highlights has been very naïve. He needed a patsy, of some sort. As well as well-voiced Yorkies (can he say that, Yorkies? Ya racist mate), Vaughan and Boycott, I'd like to know what the likes of Root, Bairstow and Rashid have to say. Must have seen or heard it. Same age group roughly. I once had an Asian mate who I regularly called p*ki, and he regularly called me pinky. Not in front of other people though. Names names names. I'm pretty sure there's a well known saying about names. They are only names. They're not rape and murder. I have an African friend who went to a well known public school. He told me that there was a lot of 'banter' about his race. He used to respond by 'bantering' back. He now believes that this banter was deeply destructive to his self esteem and sense of belonging. So I believe that there is no such thing as harmless banter when it comes to race. Also good to see some of you standing up for the Guardian. I despair of the ring wing press in this country My Asian friend went on to be a very successful businessman - you're welcome Nadeem. He then lost everything and is destitute - sorry about that Nadeem. You don't know if there is banter when it comes to race because you are one person. That's very common though, liberals speaking for people they know nothing of. |

Sex can also come back and bite you on the arse 20 years later, despite it being mutual. So, re the Yorkshire affair - how would a right wing report differ from a left wing report? They might put different slants on the story, but it doesn't alter what actually went on. How does politics affect the principle? |
