Coattail rider. The youngest ever Yorkshire captain and first ever captain of the county from an Asian background (now had did he get that gig from racists?) has his money, which the coward said he wasn't doing it for. Damage done, jobs lost, over a bit of both-way name calling done when some of the people paying the price weren't even there. You have to feel for Roger Hutton, only been there ten minutes, this comes out, tries to defend his club, like we all would, and this. Poor man. Now the vultures have got Gale suspended for an 11 year old harmless and private joke - it never ends with these freaks. Most on here defended Robinson I think. What about Gale?

Maybe. Not a big difference for me though.
Some real journalists need to ask Root and Bairstow some real questions, pressing questions. Either he is lying or Rafiq is lying. Ballance, Root, Bairstow and Rafiq came through the ranks together - hundreds of games, nets, for many years. Unless Root and Bairstow are deaf and blind they know the truth. We all know the truth of course but these players are strong-armed into following a dictatorship, otherwise lose your livelihood, like de Kock nearly did.
Can anyone think of other places or times where you have to follow a narrative or risk losing your livelihood, or worse? I can - Communist Russia, Communist China, North Korea, Taliban State Afghanistan and Nazi Germany. Do as we say or else.

Yorkshire's approach 'was do as we say please,' not or else. They knew this mole hill would be turned into Everest in the woke-age. The 'or else' belongs to the ECB and the like.
Root's hands are tied. 'Not as far as I know' ain't gonna wash though. He needs to be honest to Rafiq or honest to his county. Rafiq is happy though, despite what Randall said, he has his six figure sum.

Rafiq is happy though, despite what Randall said, he has his six figure sum. His pay-off was to compensate him for the way YCCC treated him. But Rafiq is interested in more than that. He won't be happy until he's exposed the institutional racism at the club - he's doing this for all the others who've suffered similar treatment, and hopefully to stop it happening in future.

They made him captain at 21. Institutional racism would not do that. Many years later they found out he was called some names that he's decided were offensive. They recognised the potential harm and tried to hush him up to protect the county from this despicable movement that's been coughed over here from America. They said please don't ruin lives, people who have nothing to do with this will be harmed. He did it anyway.
Roots words say it all. He can't say it was trivial and consensual cos he'll lose his livelihood. If any of these England cricketers have a slightly different opinion on matters they're gone. That's a dictatorship. It doesn't matter about right and wrong, it's subjective. We know the facts, Ballance has admitted it. There was name calling, it wasn't pleasant, nobody cared, including Rafiq, but now he does.

If he was only doing this for money like you insinuated then he would have just taken the pay off when offered first time around, that's the point I was making.

No he wouldn't. Unless he found his lawyer in a primary school.
Total farce. Root and Bairstow still have a lot to answer for. Unless the journalists they encounter from here on in are all at school with the con man's lawyer.
I wonder what sort of sledges the Aussies might come up with for these to this winter. Answers on a postcard.

As suspected, more getting dragged in - Hoggard, Bresnan, Hales, Root again. I knew what he said wouldn't wash. What about Jonny?
The more I read about this the more I think Rafiq was one of the few Asian players who tried to fit in, did fit in, got treated like he fit in and is now ashamed of fitting in cos it wasn't him, or at least he doesn't think it was him now. He was one of the boys and he got treated that way. Then it went tits-up and he got treated another way. Not a good way probably but does it warrant this s**t storm - I don't think so.
