Feel for the man in his mid 50s with a terminal disease, and the police response was OTT, but stop being so childish and grow up. It's the sort of thing immature students unable to hold their drink do on the way home after a night out. The same type of students he would have lectured before retiring at what was once known as Birmingham Polytechnic.
If I'd have acted that way, when presumably sober, my kids and grandkids would have held me in contempt as would many of their generation seeing an elder of sound mind being so puerile.
