Guy Waller (he interviewed me for a job; I didn't get it so I will now reveal that his fc batting average was 8.45 over 2 seasons and 13 matches...and he only bowled one over!)

John Kendall-Carpenter was Head at Eastbourne College, although the governors soon got rid of him. If my parents hadn't sent me to Kingswood (worst investment ever) and had gone down the road to the former it would have coincided with my public school years. Roger Knight, top bloke, taught there and my siblings were the pupils of Keith Budge on his way up the career ladder.
Surprised Paul Parker never advanced to Headship, seemed an ideal fit, his teaching career began and ended at Tonbridge. RMJ is a Geography teacher at Harrow.

Tim Curtis returned to Worcester RGS in a teaching capacity though not as Head. TC was a good rugby player representing Durham University though probably not good enough to get a Blue at Cambridge when the team was full of international players. Other cricket blues who represented Cambridge at rugby who narrowly missed out on a Blue were the aforementioned Roger Knight, Phillipe Edmonds and Steve James. PWGP was selected for Varsity match in 1977 but retired due to injury and had his place taken by Ian Greig!
What is surprising that Mark Bailey, who favoured rugby, unlike Simon Halliday, Rob Andrew (whatever became of him?) and Alan Buzza who squeezed cricket into their rugby careers whilst students, never pursued cricket at Cambridge despite winning Cricket Society's Wetherell Award in 1979 for the best public school all-rounder and playing for the NCA Young Cricketers in 1980. He also made his debut in the Minor Counties for Suffolk for whom he continued to represent and Captain until his retirement in early 90s.
PS Bit naff posting on Christmas Day, I know, but I thought all of you would benefit from my wisdom at this time of Yuletide.

Christopher John Saunders (born 7 May 1940) is a former headmaster of Eastbourne College and Lancing College, and a first-class cricketer who played for Cambridge University and Oxford University.
BUT JUST TO BE CLEAR HE ONLY GAINED HIS BLUE WHEN HD DUD HIS PGCE AT OXFORD. AS AN UNDERGRADUATE OF FITZWILLIAM COLEGE CAMBFIDGE ALTHOUGH HE PLAYED SEVERAL GAMES FOR CAMBRIDGE, HE DID NOT PROCURE A BLUE. IS THAT CRYSTAL?
