Outstanding effort today. Haines is special Yes, his batting is looking really good. A very useful bowler as well. But, he shouldn't be captain. I’d agree with that. An unnecessary burden who, if they think has leadership qualities should be, say, VC under a mentor whilst he is still developing his game

Class knock - whilst there yesterday it just made me think how were we bowled out for under 200 by this Derbyshire attack!!
It’s as potent as ours.
Haines is papering over the cracks! At this rate he’ll be poached very soon unless changes are made.

You mean the supporters who are rightly angry how our club is being run. One good day doesn’t suddenly mean Andrew and co. are doing a great job and are justified in haemorrhaging players out of the door. No, he means the moaners. The ones that think they know everything. The spouters is probably the correct word. Thank you. You are right. I am also angry about the way the club is being run, but blaming the players on the pitch, saying they are pathetic, criticising captaincy decisions with the benefit of hindsight or saying that you won’t watch any more is not, in my view, the behaviours of supporters. As someone once said to me (in the bad old days), “supporting Sussex is like having a three-legged dog - you wish it had all four legs, but you still love it.” In my view, supporters support their team and some on here too rarely do that. And that’s more than I’ve posted on here in eight years.

It would be a boring old world if everyone agreed with each other. Big task ahead today, let’s hope we can rescue some points as well as pride.

They’re doing their best, it’s not their fault they’ve been thrown in together, we all know where the blame for that lies. Supporters support their team, but also want the best for their team and club, which sometimes doesn’t mean blindly supporting those in charge and what they’ve done to our club. Imagine if we’d all just sat back and done that in 1997.

I was just about to post the same as @sillymidforties and joe. Great performance by Tom Haines. I don't know what happened in the first innings, but I am beginning to think we have a decent batting line-up. It's also good to see Pujara get runs. I feel a bit sorry for Alsop who got a bad LBW v. Notts and was run out in the second innings of this game. Let's hope we go on and save this one now.

Healthy debate isn't personal vendettas.
The disgraceful comments about Keith and others have a detrimental effect to the greater cause and to them personally but j won't say anymore.
Great session. Great signing in Pujara, Great Times are coming.

Great signing in Pujara, Great Times are coming. Football managers are sacked for a bad run of games, Grubby is still here after 5 bad seasons which have got progressively worse. Someone has to take the rap old chap, he’s the Director of Cricket ffs! If you don’t like the heat, get out of the kitchen. What you have to remember is that paying members don’t care that there are some nice new flats or that the books are balanced or that Tom Jones is performing in the summer. They want to see Sussex CCC winning games and trophies or at the very least competing for them. That won’t happen if their best players have been pushed out and replaced by kids, and who’s responsible for that? Back to this game and once again we are left trying to scrape some sort of performance together. Well batted to Tom and Chet in the second innings but this is Derby we’re talking about, they are bottom feeders and if we can’t beat them that makes us bottom feeders too and that makes me very sad indeed.

Brilliant performance from Haines and Pujara. I don't call this scraping a draw. I call this batting badly once and batting well once. We need to be consistent and not lose more than the odd session over four days and win/draw the other sessions. On paper at the very least, the batting looks more than adequate for Division Two; the bigger concern is taking 20 wickets until we get some players back. Hopefully, Ollie Robinson will play and make a difference next week at Worcester.

And another fing? Was Rawlins dropped? He finally scores a few and he's pulled out for a 17 batsman who also can't turn the ball. Is this more ridiculous decision making? Pleas tell me he's got covid or summin? Rawlins played the last 2 days for the 2’s this week, took 5 wickets and scored 22. Thanks Joe, I can always trust you or CP to answer all my pertinent, or otherwise, questions, unlike all these other sons a stitches. So dropped. Looks a poor decision on the face of it to me. I don't know what he did wrong or what a 17 year old part time bowler's gonna do better. Well done indeed to Haines and Pujara. We do have a strong batting line-up I think. But this was the best result we could have hope for even before a ball was bowled because you can't win games with three bowlers. That's a fact. I prey to my mighty cheese that whoever picks this team never picks one with three bowlers again. I appreciate the injuries but we had Burrows. If the fella isn't as good a bowler as the part-timers why the hell sign him? I think it was a tactical decision and that's the most worrying bit because, I don't know if I've said it before, but you can't win games with three bowlers. You just can't. That there hardly any comment on that on here means you all know sod-all or you just don't wanna be seen to agree with the Big Shooter. The Galaxy Boss. Me. Gordy is Grubby's love child, clearly. I've always suspected it. Daddy's a serial flop Gordy, we gotta give him a picture of a Spitfire and let him go.

You forget our T20 success. I actively give up. I genuinely believe you want us to lose so they get fired, which makes me feel sad.
