If the document Coverpoint uncovered is up to date then there is no mention of a change in the number of overseas players between the Vitality Blast and the Second XI competition.

On the Sussex website they still have Arundel tomorrow as the next fixture for the 2’s.

Oh my. That is really disappointing. The rumour was true. Feel sorry for the lads that have tried their hardest. Will be interesting to see the comms on the Sussex website about this. Are we playing or not tomorrow At 2s final,anyone know? |

No we are not. We have been removed from the finals. 10.30 is Notts (who had 5th best record in qualifying and have replaced us) play Leicester (who won North Group) then 1.45 Glamorgan (who won Midlands group) will play Middlesex (who automatically qualified as 4th best). Final is 5.00.
Assume that, like all bad news, it will not even get a mention officially.

Finally a weak statement on the website confirming the points deduction and the fact the 2nds have failed to qualify for finals day tomorrow.
How come the ECB only decided yesterday to punish us ? And why is this the first mention this season of any 2nds matches ?

A sad state of affairs when getting your big names fit for purpose is at the expense of the 2s. Even sadder when 2s games(red and white) are few and far between. For me this is just another example of the writing not being joined up to try and give our talented youngsters the best possible chance. There are lots of issues with the T20 first team; and it isn't with the youngsters. They will learn from every game they participate in; this can't be said of the rest. |

Problem is too many of the kids are in the 1st team they have not done the hard yards learning in the 2nd team.
Very few players can go from youth to 1st class cricket yet Salisbury & Kirtley have repeatedly done this.
Players have left for various reasons but, they have not been replaced adequately.
The fiasco with the T20 2nd team, who is responsible for knowing the rules? What happened wouldn't happen
in a village club.
Is that the depths Sussex admin have sunk too?
Management again. A recurring theme in all the treads on here.
I know what a business would do.

Totally Grandavefan. There is without question, amongst anyone on here and I would presume in the stands, a noticeable unrest about the constant recurring baffling management decisions. It's time and time again and it goes from selection to signings to media to office and it don't let up. This is the latest joke and it's gotta be one of the very stupidest yet. How can this happen? Now these lads miss out on a finals day. I know it's the twos, which badly needs reform, but it was still a finals day, a big occasion for family and so on.
Get these clowns out of here. They are so detrimental to the club. Andrew, Greenfield and unfortunately these two coaches who I wanted to give a season to. They've already lost me. I dunno about the CE but Adams should be doing Greenfield's job and Flower coaching all sides, for me. Maybe he can get his brother in, he don't suffer fools.
