Sad news. I would have thought Matt Prior would have bragging rights to best all time Sx Wk/Bat. JP was oldest living international cricketer and only one to have reached 90. That accolade is now probably held by MJK Smith who may also hold a unique double of being oldest living England international rugby union player! Robin Marlar 91 not out, Sussex's most enduring player?

In my early years watching Sussex at Hove my heroes were Jim Parks and Ted Dexter, who so often had partnerships together, scored at quite a rate. Jim was a brilliant batsman and a very decent wicketkeeper, the prototype of the modern one-day player - he would certainly have scored a ton of runs in the short form of the game as it's played today. I was so pleased for him when got selected to play as a wicketkeeper-batsman for England. Truly one of the Sussex greats.
