Lenham was impeccable, the rest naughty boy nets tomorrow His bowling has not been so good this year just 1 wicket in 8 games is not a good return for a leggie in T20 no matter how young and he is not strong enough with the bat to warrant a place in the team, Beer must be a bit mffed. A lot of the others could do with his energy, grit and spirit though... |

Utterly embarrassing, pathetic and quite simply not good enough.
Gloucestershire didn't win that, Sussex lost it!! 8 wickets for 23 runs in 37 deliveries. Village Cricket!!
118-2 after 13.3 overs. 28 runs required in 39 deliveries at 4.31 an over. You don't need to be a member of Mensa to work out all you need to do is knock it around, pick up the easy singles and punish the inevitable bad ball.
The chickens certainly came home to roost tonight. I said at half way if we can't chase that down, we don't deserve to qualify for the quarter finals.
We don't and we won't!!
Yes, we were missing a few players tonight, but our batting is no way near strong enough. Not helped by having the wrong personnel in the wrong places in the batting order. Without Alsop tonight, we wouldn't have got even close to their well below par score.
Our bowling attack equally isn't strong enough. Not only could we not finish them off after having them 44-4 after 8.5 overs, but the first three wickets we got were gifted to us. Ward (whose solitary over should have got battered) gets a wicket with his first ball that was a filthy full toss.
When a seventeen year old shows maturity over and above experienced, older and in a couple of cases International Cricketers it speaks absolute volumes.
Fair play to Ravi and I quote, 'That is one of the worst games I have seen in over 400 games'. His honesty, together with Alsop's innings were the only two positives tonight.
We will finish bottom three. Performances like this are not acceptable at this level of Cricket. If this were a football team, the Coaches would be picking up their P45's in the morning.
Ultimately, changes are needed and I just can't see the current management being anywhere near good enough to produce the necessary changes in performance or mindset.
Finally, I feel really sorry for the sell out crowd at Hove tonight who paid to witness that horror show.

Sussex lost 8-23. That was bloody dreadful. Our batting is simply not good enough. How many more chances are we going to give Rawlins? Why are we not playing Clark and Haines? Haines, Clark and Orr (when available again) should be playing in the T20 ahead of Rawlins, Ward and Carter.
