I wonder if our CC win will buoy the whole club and bring wins in our final T20 games?
Essex come to the game with 7 wins from their 12 games putting them 3rd with 15 points.
Michael Pepper is their top run scorer with 386 and Matt Critchley the top wicket taker with 14.

Wouldn't be surprised Sponge-pants. We need to get Haines and Carter in this team asap. They wanna play, they're very good aggressive bats and if we don't someone else will. Wake up Sussex.

Agreed about Clark too Sponge. He's a little behind Haines though so maybe next year. Haines is the really important one for now. I bet he's laid it on the line and right as well.
We seem to have 3 OS dudes in our squad. 1 in the CC, 3 in the T20 - need I say more about priorities. This after we're dumped out as well. It's poor.

I am with you Sponge, very surprised based on performances this season that Tymal has been retained in the England T20 squad. Has to be based on reputation and previous seasons, because 15 wickets at an average of 21.26 and economy rate of 9.47 doesn't jump off the page at you. Putting aside, he has only been fit to play 75% of our matches. Not surprised at Luke Wright being unavailable. I am expecting an announcement over the winter along the lines of retirement to purse other opportunities. Brilliant player and served Sussex well, but I suspect he has played his last match in a Sussex shirt. As Liquid has pointed out three overseas in the squad. Two wicket keeper batsmen and a leg spinner, both areas we already have more than covered, although I accept Rizwan has been an outstanding signing. We so desperately needed a seam bowler. I know Rashid Khan is one of the best in the world, but putting aside he hasn't produced this season, we have to stop letting sentiment influence our signings and look at what will benefit the side. |
