Ward, I've said before, not good enough. Club player and there are better in the Sussex League. Where's Carson? Surely he's fit now? Haven't heard from Salisbury for a while? None of his uplifting post game comments. Kirtley too been subdued. Anyone of you close to the ear of those that matter know where he is? They're doing well against 2nd team teams. Shows where some of them are. Some are improving. Carson out for the season.

How many chances is Ward going to get befoe the Sussex management wake up to the obvious fact that Ward simply is not good enough. He was actually more effective as an opener where if he didn't come off it was unlikely to have a significant overall impact. Today a combination of scoreboard pressure together with an ever increasing runs required per over got to him and exposed the poor decision to bat him at five. When he has come off this season it is when he was able to just play his natural game without any real consequence. It has been these sort of management decisions around selection, batting order and tactics throughout the season that throw the spotlight on the suitability of Salisbury and Kirtley as a coaching team. Will we finally see Carter for Ward in the next match? I wouldn't put money on it Devon as Ward scored 23 off 5 balls in the T20 at Taunton.

Logic says that Ward has had enough opportunities in 50 over white ball. His inclusion is preventing the opportunity of others. All wrong. Can anyone explain this? Would love to hear what Salisbury and Kirtley have to say. Check the Ward stats for 1st and 2nd team cricket. My guess is that it will be the same 11 for tomorrow's game at Somerset. We are doing well; and I am excited about this. But, there have been so many examples of management ineptitude this season, something has to change.

Management ineptitude when we are winning is ***ing nuts. He has an incredible eye and very fast wrists. The boy will be a serious white ball player when he finds his consistency. Not too dissimilar to a boy that turned down a significant contract offer to join Manchester.

What are the chances of the ECB releasing Ollie Robinson to bowl a few overs for us today? He could do with the match fitness and 10 overs in Taunton might just do the trick.

The chances of Robinson being released are nil. He was doing some bowling practice on the outfield at Lords yesterday, and I reckon he will be needed for England next week given how little impact England’s 3 main bowlers have made in the SA first innings (prompting Stokes to bowl himself way more than he would have liked).

That worked.
Who you on about Gordy? Phillips? Grealish? Ronaldo? I have no idea but there's probably a footie thread somewhere near Tiptoes territory.
Robinson should be in Zum, or wherever we are. Actually he should be playing at Lord's as he's better than the other 3.

Ward may have ‘very fast wrists’ but Carter is a better batsman.

If Zak Crawley is good enough for England then Ward is good enough for Sussex. I’m being facetious of course but the modern trend is to keep selecting players based on perceived talent rather than results. The downside for the player is that when they’re finally dropped it’s a long wait to get back. I reckon Ward has promise but would be better served gaining experience and confidence outside the first team.

Ibrahim opening! They tested this against Oxfordshire but I didn’t expect to see it in the competition proper.

Unsurprisingly it didn’t work. As much as I admire Ibrahim it’s asking too much
