Wonder if it will light things up in Leicester. West Indies excelled not even qualifying ahead of Ireland and Zimbabwe.

T20 games can easily go wrong - one bit of good or bad luck can change a game as can one good over or one bad over. Once you get to the knockout stages, it is a bit of a lottery. India and England might look good prospects to win the competition, but most of the knockout games will be no more than 60-40 in favour of the stronger side. I think England have a chance to win but I won't hold my breath.

Netherlands lost to Bangladesh. It might just as well be Albania, Iceland or Tonga. At least there was a Tongan born player in the side, I don't think there was 1 Dutch born player in the team representing Holland today.

Bad weather, the DLS and a poor batting performance lost England the game against Ireland today. England rarely make it easy for themselves and the game against Australia on Friday becomes an almost, well almost, a must win. A real shame about the present Australian weather as it's turning this tournament into a damp squib. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/63395939

Unless India or Pakistan are playing the crowds have been very disappointing during this comp so far. 11,000 for the Eng v Ireland game at the MCG which can hold 100,000. Without the crowds there’s no atmosphere.

A pity about the crowds, but this tournament is thrilling to watch given the underdogs are holding their heads high.
After Ireland beat England, Zimbabwe now win against Pakistan in another exciting last ball finish. With just the top two from each group going straight to a semi-final, anything can happen, especially if the bad weather continues.

Zimbabwe Brad Evans; Eastbourne College OB and didn't he play a couple of games for Sussex 2s, or was it the Academy.

Zimbabwe need to beat Netherlands and Bangladesh and have the India game rained off.

Dear oh dear, what a damp squib this tournament is turning out to be with the bad weather kiboshing matches left, right and centre. The latest is today's England game against Australia where each side gains a point. This means that we may have to win our last two games against Sri Lanka and New Zealand to reach the semis, bar the rain. The weather is making a mockery of the results. So far 8 matches have been washed out. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/world-twenty20/table

Wicked is it correct 8 games have been washed out? The tables you provide show 8 points awarded for a wash out. That would be equivalent to four games washed out. But the general point the weather is impacting on the tables is correct, as some games determined by DLS.

Also, in small groups of six, it can make a difference which games are washed out or become farces due Duckworth and chums. Another washout for England could make things even worse.

Sussexman, You are absolutely correct, it is 4 games. My fault. As sixandout points out, also other games have been affected by DLS like the England v Ireland match. No idea what the future weather forecast is for the Aussie grounds involved, but let's hope it improves.
