Sussexman, You are absolutely correct, it is 4 games. My fault. As sixandout points out, also other games have been affected by DLS like the England v Ireland match. No idea what the future weather forecast is for the Aussie grounds involved, but let's hope it improves. So called world cup, with no spare days given for contingency. Bit of a shambles. It does seem strange that there are no contingency days, particularly when games are a few days apart. I appreciate that it's impossible to have a perfect method for determining the best T20 team in the world, but the format is not helping. Specifically, washouts, no contingency days, only 2 teams from 6 qualifying for the semis (there is going to an unlucky 3rd placed or even 4th placed team), only five games if they did all take place etc. Unimpressed.

Two games washed out today at the MCG when there’s a stadium with a roof two miles away!

A must win game for England tomorrow when the team plays New Zealand, especially after Australia trounced Ireland today. New Zealand lead the table, 2 points ahead of England, after each have played 3 matches. The way things are going it could come down to run rate. At least, England have "the eye" over NZ in recent encounters. We just need the batsmen to find form, in particular Ben Stokes, whose recent T20 performances have been "underwhelming" with a highest score of 17* in five previous innings, after being recalled to the side following 18 months out. The match starts at 8am English time or 6pm Australia. The Venue is Brisbane. The weather forecast for tomorrow is rain with the bulk of it falling for 10 hours between 4am and 2pm (Australian time). So, a wash out due to a sodden outfield? What a joke! www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/world-twenty20/table

An excellent win for England. Thank God the weather did not intervene. Their tournament is back on track and another must win against Sri Lanka gives them a fighting chance of reaching the semi-finals, although I fear it may come down to run-rate. Both Australia (Afghanistan) and New Zealand (Ireland) have straight-forward final games where run-rates could be improved. Today, Buttler was lucky, but also superb along with the dependable Curran. Great to see England finally gelling. If only Stokes could come to the party. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/63468894www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/world-twenty20/table

Of course, a washed out game finishes us. Ridiculous, IMHO.

WOW! People thought England losing against Ireland was a shock result, but this latest one of the Netherlands beating South Africa takes the buttermilk rusks. Out go the Saffers from the competition. So, India and Pakistan qualify which allows the World Cup momentum, shift now into a higher gear. Huge audiences for both semi-finals. Looks like England v India and New Zealand v Pakistan. Surely India must beat Zimbabwe in today's match? Congrats to Pakistan for bouncing back after the initial defeat against India. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/63531185PS: Zimbabwe facing carnage! That's it. Semi-final England v India on Thursday at the Adelaide Oval. Start 8am. Weather forecast is sunny. The game should be a cracker.

All the media talk as England prepare for the semi-final on Thursday is... will Phil Salt replace Dawid Malan, if the Yorkshire batsman's groin injury doesn't heal? After limping off the field during the Sri Lanka game, Malan didn't bother to pad up later, prompting the question: "Is five days rest sufficient?" Apart from Salt, England's other options are mainly bowlers like David Willey, Chris Jordan and Tymal Mills. Yet, given the importance of the match, surely England would rather go for an experienced and reliable head like Jordan, than the younger and more rough diamond Salt? Even so, Michael Atherton has taken a shine to Salt and reckons the former Sussex opener is "a real dasher at the top of the order and would fit in quite happily." Yet, why does the team require another opener when Buttler and Hales are playing so well together, unless Salt comes in at No.3 or 4? Anyway, it offers SKY Sports something to talk about during a tournament that, until now, has been somewhat of a damp squib. www.skysports.com/cricket/news/12123/12738886/t20-world-cup-will-england-open-with-phil-salt-if-dawid-malan-misses-semi-final

Sri Lanka Cricket begin inquiry into more claims after Danushka Gunathilaka's arrestA darn good job, England beat Sri Lanka. These new claims could have jeopardised the semi-finals. Let's hope they have nothing to do with T20 World Cup match-fixing. Now that would be really awkward! www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/63553205

Congrats to Pakistan for beating New Zealand today. What a tournament comeback after that extraordinary loss against India in their opening match. The tournament has well and truly come alive and who is going to bet against India to make it a Pakistan v Indian Final? Hopefully, England supporters. www.bbc.co.uk/sport/cricket/63566227

What a game. The former England black sheep, Alex Hales, has returned like a strutting ram.
What an innings.
Do we dare to dream yet of a final against Pakistan?
