www.thetimes.co.uk/article/lapped-5k-parkrun-again-running-olympic-champion-jake-wightman-sh7t60rs3I love doing this, only 7 minutes walk from my home in Eastbourne. Unable to do so at present as I work on Saturdays but competed on Christmas and New Years Day as we had a double header on the weekend. Only took it up about 18 months ago and the aim is to do it under 30 minutes. Managed to rope my son in who's done a couple around 25 minutes. Pity Steve Ovett doesn't still live in Friston Area, he might have turned up for a few. In Brighton and Hove they have 5 venues. Only ever run locally but when at UEA in Norwich used to run in a nearby park in Earlham that is used for their Park Run. There are some real oldies still competing. I think I read of a man over 100 who did it in 38 minutes!!

I was on course to do it in 15 minutes but some fat little bald man in the bushes convinced me to take a 20 minute break. I still don't know what the hell happened.

That was me when I was injured doing some voluntary marshalling. Since then I'm unrecognisable having lost 6 stone, had a hair transplant and taken a trip to Hungary to have my legs lengthened.

Extra cover on your head, but maybe you’ll field at long leg in future.
