www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-south-yorkshire-64577552Is he the sleaziest MP ever who makes John Stonehouse the model of propriety and Angela Rayner and Lee Anderson cerebral giants? When I first started following politics, men like Roy Jenkins, Tony Crosland, Denis Healy and Tony Benn, while often wrong in their political outlook depending on your views about the EU, grammar schools, homosexuality and abortion were deemed intellectuals with a likely lofty disdain for their overwhelmingly working class electorate. And when you look at the seat of elite Sheffield Hallam comprising doctors, solicitors, accountants and business men/woman, represented by a total neanderthal like Jared O'Mara as their MP, you see the whole scenario turned on its head. I dont suppose many of his constituents would turn up to one of his surgeries expecting that he might be a source of help. On the positive side it show a career as an MP is within the reach of anyone...or maybe that isn't a positive, when we need lawmakers with a certain amount of integrity and intelligence.

Got to be up there, and leave Lee Anderson alone! When I was young Labour had some giants on its benches, people like Peter Shore, decent, patriotic and caring. Now it has Zarah Sultana, Nadia Whittome and until her conviction Claudia Webbe. We actually have a convicted criminal making the laws of this land. The Tories are better but not by much, I give you William Wragg. Don’t blame the people of Sheffield though, this is another instance of a transient student population using their vote to inflict inadequates on the locals. Look at the council in Brighton, do you think the residents wanted 20mph zones, filthy bins on pavements and sky high parking charges? Do people who live in Oxford want 15 minute cities? Students should only be able to vote where they live out of term time.

At least the students in Canterbury, highest per capita, delivered a decent MP prepared to stand up to the militant left against dangerous trans nonsense.
The LDs can probably outdo the 2 main parties for debauchery and sleaze, starting from Jeremy Thorpe, Clement Freud, Cyril Smith, Chris Hulme, Mark Oaten and Mike Hancock.
