Leicestershire must be disappointed.
Winning the toss and deciding to field in bowler friendly conditions.
Alsop continues to show what a good signing he has been. He really worked hard and totally deserved his century. Even more impressed with Coles, his batting seems to have really progressed since last season.

But with Coles scoring runs, Haines imminent return from injury, Pujara, Alsop and Carter in good form and Orr due a score, if we were selecting on form instead of reputation he probably wouldn't make the eleven for Glamorgan. On a serious note, I feel for Farbrace. Stuck between a rock and a hard place. If your given the chance to sign one of the top batters in the world and say no and the batting unit then fail to perform during the time he would have been at the club, he would inevitably face criticism. But, so as not to sit on the fence I am with you, despite the kudos and commercial benefits I am not convinced it was the right decision. |

Sussex certainly didn’t need to sign Smith they have 2 very good overseas players as it is and they certainly didn’t need to help him prepare for the Ashes by batting in our conditions although the way he is batting perhaps it’s a good thing lack of confidence and all that 😂 |
