Disappointing that we are not taking the opportunity to give at least one more inexperienced player a game.
Last chance saloon for Khan.
What us the point if playing Burgess as a keeper.
Hope Ibrahim and Karvelas aren't there just for 12th man duties.
However, there is a 2s T20 game today at Horsham. Will Garton play in that.

No mention of any injury?! Khan won’t be dropped, it just never happens when you sign an overseas for a campaign. I think his batting could suddenly come good. Likes to hit over the top so I wonder if they may experiment by opening with him as we are struggling a bit up front as Bopara mentioned without Orr. I also wonder if there may be some ground work being made to keep Burgess with us after the t20 or perhaps more likely sign him for next season. I know some on here would be against that but personally I really rate him so would be in favour! I think Carter has a way to go as a keeper although his batting is often impressive. |

I think Garton must be injured as he’s not named in the squad and not playing in the 2’s game today. Unless he’s gone the same way as Rawlins, no word from the club about his absence either.
As for Burgess, he’s made a lot of mistakes with the gloves. There have been at least 3 missed catches and we’ve had a lot more in the extras column since he joined. Hopefully he can tidy things up and settle in. His batting looks good when he gets going.

All very strange about the missing Garton. He's been very unlucky with injury; if he us injured.
Rawlins availabilty is a mystery.
Burgess is 28 and really not needed by Sussex. The future is Carter and Tear across all formats.

Ibrahim and Karvelas are indeed the players left out Poor show. Both should be playing. Farbrace needs a look in his T20 mirror. Both should have been playing and getting cricket for the 2s. I'm sure they would rather play than sub field and be water carriers. |

Very impressive live stream.
Seem to have cameras covering every angle.
Other Counties can learn a lot from Essex.
Comes with the added bonus of two decent and informed commentators, which hasn't always been the case in the other T20 broadcasts.
Back to the game and what was promising to be a decent score whilst Bopara was at the crease is now falling away.

If we bowl and field well then it could be difficult for Essex.
Anyone know if Bopara travelled on the team bus?
