The tragic deaths of those 2 children still seems strangely ambiguous as to the cause of it with eyewitnesses utterly clueless.
The impoundment of the Dorset Belle and arrest of the skipper may not even be relevant. I'm sure you all remember the 2 Allchorns Pleasure boats in Eastbourne which used to cruise along to Beachy Head and back but they were so far out at sea not to disturb any swimmers.
Going even further back but less than 50 years I recall when county cricket was played at Bournemouth in the county of Hampshire.
