We’ve got back to back games now Thursday and Friday, both away at Bristol and Cardiff. For once the fixtures work in our favour.
A squad of 15 travel.

Mills too tired? Would have liked to see Alsop play instead of Burgess.

Mills too tired? Would have liked to see Alsop play instead of Burgess. My guess is Karvelas will play tonight but Mills will play tomorrow. Alsop, FHP and Karvelas will play in the CC game v Glamorgan on Sunday so FHP and Alsop rested.

Halfway there after the powerplay. 79/0 The question is Joe with only needing 4.5 runs per over and well ahead, are we going to see a sensible approach where we coast home or the reckless exuberance of youth? Wasn't it the equivalent fixture last season that we inexplicably threw away?

Wasn't it the equivalent fixture last season that we inexplicably threw away? Yes indeed, I think we were only chasing 140 odd, were 110/2 and lost. Good 50 from Ward who was showing shades of Luke Wright.

That was pretty spectacular, even allowing for the weakened opposition. Delighted for Ward, who’s probably been playing for his future these past three games and definitely deserves to be retained now. He’s by far our quickest scorer, like a supercharged Jason Roy and finally stayed around long enough to play a match winning innings.
Also happy for Shadab Khan, who for the second time has shown us his full capabilities. Maybe with a strong enough end to this competition we might see him back after all.

A comfortable confidence boosting win.
Further evidence that even though the campaign has been disappointing, Farbrace does have enough within the current group to use as a starting point to build upon and put together a competitive team.

Funny old game, Saint. Such is T20 cricket. Cricket is a funny old game Greavesie … and now (with apologies to SurreySteve) I’m hoping for something spectacular for the long suffering Middlesex supporters.
