The forum calendar is a way to stay up to date with upcoming events that are occurring within the community. The Calendar button is located in the top menu bar. Once clicked, you'll be brought to a calendar view that you may expect which will show one large view for the current month, as well as 3 mini-calendars displaying future months.
The large calendar view will give you an overview for the month that you have selected, allowing you to see the names of the events planned for that month directly on the calendar. You can click on the name of an event to find out more details about it. You will also be able to view birthdays on the calendar. Only members who choose to make their birthday public will be shown.
You will see a "New Event" button displayed toward the top-right hand corner of the calendar. Click this button to get started.
Once you've clicked the New Event button, a pop-up box will appear asking you for the date that your event is expected to occur. By default the forum will expect that you will want your event displayed in days, but if you want to fine-tune your event to occur within certain hours you can simply uncheck the box for all day event. Once that's done, you'll see some additional options come up allowing you to adjust the time for the start and end of the event.
After the Create Event button has been clicked, you'll be brought to the Create Thread screen, like you would see when creating a new thread on the forum. The subject you provide will be the name of the event that's displayed in the calendar on the forum. To the right of the Subject field you'll find an Edit Event button just in case you want to adjust the start or end time for the event. Once the subject of the event has been provided, give some details about the event in the message area and then click the Create Thread button when finished. Once completed, a new thread will be created about the event in the board you selected and the event will appear in the forum's calendar view.
