An interesting Tweet from Marcus Hook on the Surrey Supporters Club site:
Surrey's T20 gate receipts in the last 4 years: 2012 - £641,224 2013 - £1,141,479 2014 - £1,384,536 2015 - £1,665,558 #T20Blast
Not hard to see why Surrey will be so opposed to franchises, but it does speak volumes about the growing popularity of T20, properly marketed and at an accessible location.

2012 was a monsoon season, so no surprise there, but 2013 and 2015 have experienced the Ashes knock-on affect, where this year shows a £524,079 improvement from two years ago. That is impressive.
As you say, Surrey have no need of an EPL and will fight hard to stop it from happening.

Surrey may need reminding that there are 17 other counties involved!

Listening to Richard Rae on the Leicestershire-Somerset commentary, he said that the idea of franchises has received "an almost uniformly negative reaction - officials as well".

Wasim Khan, CEO of Leicestershire, states here ( www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/cricket/34347305) that "...Leicestershire is the only county cricket club in the country with no debt". That has already roused a Tweet in response from Derbyshire's chairman and I wonder what Jim May and his Treasurer, Ed Putnam , would have to say about that?

I have just renewed my Adult Yorkshire membership at £205. This is the same price as last season and covers all matches including 20/20. I also get £10 off the yearbook and free scorecards @1 per item.
I consider this excellent value. I saw 28 days this season working out at £7.32 per day before other discounts(scorecards/yearbook) are applied. What other sport or entertainment can compare? Even cinema tickets are more expensive I believe.

The Yorkshire CCC website has today issued some fascinating attendance figures for the 2015 season. County Championship total attending 59,329 representing a 47.47% increase on the previous season. RL cup attendance 21,436 = 86.84% increase(largely due to a home semi-final) and 20/20 attendance 55,655 representing a 19.3% increase.
So Championship cricket remains the most popular format in the White rose county.

What is the average daily attendance at each of the three formats?

"... based on what our income looks like going forward and takes into account we will receive less money from the ECB next year." Presumably this is a reference to the start of the claw back on the ECB £1 million 'soft loan', repayable over four years from the regular annual ECB stipend. I know there were some who believed 'soft loan' meant never having to pay it back and we had that discussion on here, I seem to recall. It was only 'soft' in the sense that it wasn't repayable at a punitive rate of interest - but the capital sum was always going to have to be repaid. All those counties who took the million and spent it will presumably be facing the same harsh reality of paying it back and consequent reductions in their ECB grant over seasons 2016-19.
