It’s all well and good syaing you want to play 2 spinners but the way Carson is bowling at the moment he isnt selectable. I hope he finds some form but i'd still be looking at Lenham or Foreman as alternatives. What kind of bad was Carson when you saw him? Do you remember Nicky Phillips? That kind of bad! |

It’s disappointing to hear he was rubbish though. You would have thought the lions tour would have fired him up. If he loses top spinner spot, he needs to take a look at himself. |

I heard he was massively disappointed Bashir was selected above him for England and where he probably had a point i also think its a big part of his problem is he thinks hes better than what he currently is. |

Simpson (c,wk) Alsop Carson Carter Clark Coles Crocombe Haines FHP Hunt Karvelas Lamb Robinson Seales Simpson, Seales and Lamb to all make their debut and wouldn’t expect Robinson to be named and not played so the 3 to miss out are probably Carter, Crocombe and either FHP or Hunt. Can't believe Carter and FHP will miss out. It would mean a heck of a tail. it would be something like: Haines Clark Alsop Coles Simpson Lamb Robinson Carson Karvelas Hunt Seales |

I'd have Carter in at 5, Simpson at 6, FHP, Robinson, Carson, Seales and Karvelas.

I can’t see FHP and Lamb playing together, they’re both 4th seamers imo, it’s possible they do both play if Carson is left out i guess but Farby has made it clear he’ll always play a frontline spinner wherever possible.

Can’t decide between Hunt and Karvelas, i think they could both count themselves unlucky if they do miss out given how they both finished last season.
I have to say I’m more optimistic about this season than i have been for a good few years. If Ollie Rob is fully fit and firing, If he does play 5 of the first seven, If Seales lives up to his undoubted promise i can see us getting off to a good start, then If we stay relatively injury free I can see it being a very decent red ball season at least. Lots of ifs though! Fingers crossed!

Carson shouldn't start; but probably will.
FHP should start.
Wouldn't suprise me if Lamb starts as well.
That puts a lot of pressure on Robinson and Seales. If they are both fit and ready they should give Northants a tough time.
Looking forward to this game.
