I’m allowing myself a modicum of excitement leading up to the first game.
Hopefully Seales and Robinson both play. No word from HQ on Pujara as yet which is worrying. Lamb being rested leads me to think he’ll get the nod over FHP? Coles out bowled Carson so I’d leave Carson out.

Good to see you positive Joe, lets hope it continues. I guess having Ollie available is a massive boost for us. Pujara may well play you never know.

We dont need 5 seamers so id lose one of hunt or karvelas there and play an extra batsman. Good to see you positive Joe, let’s hope it continues. I guess having Ollie available is a massive boost for us. Pujara may well play you never know. I reckon in Joe’s lineup FHP would be the ‘extra batsman’ who would bowl only a few overs. I don’t think we have a better batsman than him amongst the backups. If we swapped out one of the other bowlers, our attack wouldn’t be strong enough in my view. |

Yeah the concern is naturally real quality proven strength in depth but i reckon we wont be the only side with that issue. |

Especially at the start of the season if Brook and Root are available. None of the others look particularly dangerous and it’s hard to pick a second favourite for promotion. So in other words, we have a decent opportunity this year. |

Interview with Farby in the Cricketer he says he’ll play 2 spinners every championship game. Pujara will arrive half way through the first game, he’s had a back issue but it’s thought he’ll be OK for second game. Ollie Robinson should be available for 4 or 5 of the first 7 games.

Its all well and good syaing you want to play 2 spinners but the way Carson is bowling at the moment he isnt selectable. I hope he finds some form but i'd still be looking at Lenham or Foreman as alternatives.

Coles bowls 4 balls but has a knack of taking wickets. Nice to have 4 spinning options too. Really enjoyed Ollies interview yesterday, very very honest and great news for Sussex and England. |
