The more this season goes on, the worse Haines and Pujara look as captains. What a difference if makes having someone capable in charge

When do we start to get worried?

Phew! Seales finishes with 6 wickets in the game and will be on a hattrick next game.
Sussex require 144 off 49 overs.
Think it’s fairly safe to say unless we are stopped by bad light/rain, we’re winning this one.

Another 2 gone…
70/4 at tea another 74 needed.

If Pujara goes soon after tea, then this could be squeaky bum time. Rain could also play a role. Haines was self-destructive. Awful play.
Dear oh dear, Sussex rarely make it easy for themselves.

Well done Sussex, you got there… eventually. 😉
Danny Lamb is turning out to be an excellent signing. He has become a strong backbone for the lower order batting.

I’ve been out this afternoon and not checking my phone, so I missed all the tension. Very happy to get a win even if it was harder today than expected.
Good to see spinners play a big part in this game, in April and with the Dukes ball. Pleased to see Carson bowl so successfully which should boost his confidence.
Looking across all the scores, the Dukes have produced more interesting and better balanced cricket than the Kookaburras.
We’re now 9 points clear at the top of the table. Think it’s going to be a tight race this season but we have a great opportunity.

Kookaburra ball = 2 wins after 1st and 2nd rounds. The rest of the matches were draws.
Dukes ball = 4 wins from 3rd round. The rest were draws.
So, yes, a marked improvement.
