Kookaburra ball = 2 wins after 1st and 2nd rounds. The rest of the matches were draws. Dukes ball = 4 wins from 3rd round. The rest were draws. So, yes, a marked improvement. We win both kookaburra ball games without significant rain and light delays

Never in doubt really chasing that total with Ollie in at 10.
Gloucester got what they deserved, late in day 2 resorting to bowling very negative plans looked to me they were happy with a draw then.
We have a good side and we should enjoy these wins there'll be many more this season and still so much room for improvement but we dominated all 3 games so far and in truth we were only at our best in this game for 2 sessions. So much more to come.
Year 4 of the 5 year plan is doing what I always said it would 😉

Pujara is one of the best in the world in that situation. And Danny Lamb did what Danny Lamb seems to do. No team will fancy playing Sussex at the moment.

With the Dukes, there were still some big scores but the games were better balanced.

Ok the timing was out but if you really felt stronlgy about it youd be glad they did use it then when more than a day in each game was lost to the weather.

Surprised this thread has limped into a third page... Match threads are usually longer when things go wrong. I make no further comment.

I was away in Ireland visiting family but watched a fair chunk on my phone. I think Gloucester are a very poor side and probably Derby only worse than them in this division so we really had to win if we want to be considered serious title contenders.

I am indeed very anti-somethings and I don’t think that’s odd at all. However the kookaburra ball isn’t one of those things. In one of my posts I put the case for why it’s being trialled. I have also said that based on the three rounds of games so far, the Dukes has produced the better cricket but that’s not exactly an extremist position is it?

Gloucs were a poor team last season but I reckon they’ll do better this year. I don’t think there’s a big gap between any of the Div 2 teams (especially as Yorks are underperforming) but I do agree that Derbys look like the weakest link.

Well SP considering you escalated the language to extremism (which i never said or aluded to) seems to suggest you may think your opinion is radical, I'm Merely pointing out that it seems very odd to be very anti trialling new things particularly as weather played a huge part in those fixtures and its very difficult to accurately compare because of this. To reiterate, I believe Sussex would be 3 for 3 without said weather and 2 of those wins would have come with the Kookaburra ball. With our attack and our batting line up I'd say we are one of the 2 or 3 teams that stand out on paper at least.

In fact, all I’d said was that the Dukes had produced the better cricket over the first three rounds. At no stage have I expressed opposition to the trial, I was just commenting on the results of it. I really hope that makes it clear for you and I also hope we can now draw this to a close.

As a closing statement from the defence, i never said you were i said 'It's' odd to be very anti the trial of kookaburra balls and putting up facts that suit your argument (not meaning you a general thing) when you miss out key factors that could easily counter said argument. I think if they hadnt trialled global warming we'd have won 3 games so far, bloody Rob Key and his interfering in science! (its a joke SP)
