Yes, only one over of spin from Coles was a bit strange. The secret with Somerset at Taunton is win the toss and put them in as they will always chase. We lost the toss and not much went right from there. Even the Umpires seemed to have been on the cider as I don't know how they missed Green falling on the stumps, although fair play to him for recalling Mills. Coles looked in for the run out as well, something backed up by the relative silence of the Somerset commentators when reflecting on the replay.

I can't help thinking that having the pedestrian Clark at the other end forces people to take more risks than they should. Just tapping singles through the powerplay is inexcusable. 3 is a tough position. You have to be ready for anything. We don’t have anyone who’s really up to it and it shows. Coles probably will be in a year or two time. Not sure that Clark should be anywhere near the first team in any format. His numbers are down there with David Standing's and at least Standing could bowl passable offspin.

'Treegs' advising Robinson on his bowling was like a health care assistant telling a surgeon how to operate. The tatted buffoon is for the good of all restricted to Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset.

I quite enjoyed the Zomerzet stream although it would be enhanced by having an opposition view to offset the bias. Ours is always more enjoyable when Harmsey is has someone like "Gadders" or "Doigy" taking the piss out of him or correcting his frequent mistakes.

Most teams would say they’re at least one explosive batter light especially with so few A list overseas players in the competition this year (and maybe every year from now on with so many T20 competitions globally). I reckon Carter could be a high performer in T20 but he’s obviously out of favour right now. Meanwhile, we only bowled one over of spin tonight. Having watched the spinners clean up Kent last week I don’t understand why we’d choose to do that, especially as Taunton is supposed to be fertile ground for spinners. I would think we didn't bowl Coles until much later because the only way we were going to win was by bowling them out, Coles is more of a containing bowler who tends to get wickets due to scoreboard pressure rather bowling threatening deliveries but there was no scoreboard pressure. While his figures against Kent were exceptional they do an absolute master class in how not to play a left arm spinner in T20 cricket, they just completely went into their shells and frustrated themselves out as a result.
