The toss is irrelevant when you bat that badly. You just lose. One thing though, if we had fielded first it might well have calmed them down. They generally looked overwhelmed and startled. Which no one would have anticipated. Omens were bad when Hughes was out. He usually covers a multitude of sins.

Agree with that but you can't make your choices based on the mindset of "What if we **** the bed?", Mills has been a positive captain and it paid off until now.

It’s how it played out. It is a shame though, as we are a lot better than we showed. By the time we found our feet , it was too late.

Luck of the draw when it comes to T20 - sometimes it goes your way, sometimes it doesn't. We've beaten Glos twice this season already.

First of all, well played Gloucestershire. I hope they go on to win the final.
In the end, knocked out with a whimper rather than a bang.
Really disappointing display, given everything that has gone on before in this tournament.
However, full credit to the team and all the coaching staff.
Ahead of the start of the competition, in fairness, I suspect most of us given the resources available would have accepted a mid table group finish with a respectable number of wins. Qualifying for the quarter-finals would have been well beyond expectations.
Yet, this team not only qualified, they did so with nine wins, secured a home quarter-final with a lucrative pay day for the club and comprehensively beat a very strong Lancashire side to get to finals day.
I am sure we would have all taken that ahead of our first game on the 31st May, ironically against Gloucestershire.

Well said, we were all calling this team no hopers and they exceeded all our expectations. I do hope Glos win it, there's something very dislikeable about the Somerset team and their ignominious in defeat, ignominious in victory fans

Gutted for those players that they didn’t perform like the excellent side we know they are. It will be of no consolation to them that they did well in qualifying. They went to edgbaston to win. That’s t20 cricket for you . If you’re not on it , the game can leave you very quickly.

The twenty twenty's been a great ride this year and well done to all concerned on getting far further in this tournament than anyone could have dreamt of. It's a shame to lose in such a poor fashion on finals day but we didn't turn up unfortunately. Well done Gloucestershire as well. In my opinion they have in Shaw and Payne the best 20/20 bowlers in the country, going on form. They're obviously not in with the powers that be or mates with the England selectors, which is a shame as they would be a marked improvement on Curren and Topley.

At least we have the opportunity for revenge next week. May Gloucs win the final and party for the next few days. Looking good for them as I write this.

Well played Gloucestershire, worthy winners.
Given how easily they despatched a very good Somerset side in the final, perhaps we didn't play as badly against them as we initially thought in the semi-final.
I can't help feeling out of all the finalists, the wicket probably suited their bowling attack more than the other teams.
As I said in an earlier post, you can't help feeling their name was on the trophy after their remarkable quarter-final win when they defended only 138 against Birmingham.
Hopefully, they will spend the next 48 hours celebrating and be in less than perfect shape for our Championship game against them on Tuesday.

I'm sure the great majority of cricket fans (including me) thought the winner would come from the other semi-final. It goes to show, once again, you should never take results for granted.
