fraudster, Just joshin' man. Sussex have carried off two frauds in two days. They won two games they shouldn't have won. Is that an inside job or what?

Sorry, frawdy, I don't do 'carried away' unless it's something special. Never tried the white stuff apart from when I put it on the end of my cue. Sorry to be slow, but is that a euphemism?

The two major improvements this season? To be fair, Sussex produced some admirable cricket in the field and again showed the benefits - the somewhat prosaic benefits - of accurate medium-pace and spin bowling. Steffan Piolet, delivering his medium-pace with admirable control, conceded just 15 runs in his four overs to claim the man of the match award, while Yasir Arafat conceded only two more.www.espncricinfo.com/county-cricket-2014/content/story/745433.htmlWhere Sussex should be... on top, as the prostitute said to the bishop. At least some comfort for Robbo who saw his beloved Hull lose in the FA Cup final after conceding 3 goals after being 2-0 up. www.espncricinfo.com/natwest-t20-blast-2014/engine/series/691693.html?view=pointstableMeanwhile, 13,500 attended the double header at Lords. A good start but room for improvement.

A long but enjoyable day - and a great win, which isn't the same as saying we were great, because we were dire for a large chunk of the game while we batted. But the character was great, the bowling was clever and the fielding was committed.
So what happened to produce such a low-scoring game? I really have no idea. The idea that it was a "difficult" wicket is laughable - I watched 360 runs made on it in 40 overs by Middx andf Essex. May be it lost a bit of life and pace in the second game and wasn't coming on to the bat as well - but no more so than in a routine CB/YB40 match when the pitch sometimes 'dies' a little on the side batting second.
Middx thought they could knock the runs off at leisure (as did everyone else in the ground, including the Sussex players, I suspect). But they got behind the rate - which shouldn't really have mattered with such a low target but then Morgan got out and blind panic set in. You can call it scoreboard pressure , I suppose - but a scoreboard that reads 128 should not really constitute pressure to a team of experienced professionals!
Impresssed by Piolet - and Arafat and Jordan are the highest class both in the power play and at the death. Sadly it won't be the same when we lose Jordan and Liddle comes back in; I'd rather try Lewis as his replacement. And I still think we are one explosive (overseas) batsman short and rely too heavily on Luke Wright for crashing the ball over the boundary. We need a power hitter to come in when Wright gets out and for all their excellent qualities, Yardy and Joyce don't quite fit that billing.
But hey, the luck is with us; we've won two games we probably should have lost and as jonboy says we've "really yet to get going".
Not many Sussex supporters there today - but then I suppose with games at Hove on Friday and Sunday that was no surprise. I didn't hear an attendance figure but the 13,500 quoted by s&f sounds about right. Better than any of the crowds last night (with lots of children and families who are not going to turn up to the Friday night booze fests) - plus there was a north London team playing in the FA Cup final. If there hadn't been a clash with the football, I reckon there would have been 18,000 plus.

There was also a London Premiership Rugby semi final at Barnet Sarries V Quins. So that may have accounted for some more. Spoilt for choice today regarding sport. Haven't got BT sport, so went to watch the Rugby at the Vine. 2 Great wins for Sussex. clearly the momentum is with the Sharks. Well done Sussex!
