Some members may not know all the potential settings that can add to enjoyment and security online in Proboards. We hope this quick guide will help you.
First, click on Profile in the main menu bar. There are a series of tabs that record the data from your online involvement - Activity, Following, Friends, Groups and others. There is also a button on the right hand side to Edit Profile.
On clicking this the first tab that is open allows you to upload an avatar image that will be displayed as a thumbnail each time you post. Ou can upload your own image, and the software will set it automatically to the right size. You can also choose from a number of cricket-related avatar images already uploaded by selecting the radio button Use a Forum Avatar and clicking on the text Pick One.
The Personal tab allows you to put in or inhibit information about yourself, Location, personal Website, Status or to add a Signature, which can be text and/or images.
In Social you can, if you choose to, upload details of Facebook and Twitter accounts, GooglePlus, LinkedIn and YouTube, as well as various messaging formats if you want to let other users know how to contact you.
The Settings tab gives you control over what is displayed:
Show Participated
Displays the participated button next to the navigation tree.
Show Signatures
Displays member signatures with their posts.
Show Avatars
Displays member avatars.
Forum Theme
Displays the available theme of your choice.
Enable Drafts
Saves your posts periodically during creation.
Posting Default
Sets what editor you default to when creating posts.
Smiles Default
Sets whether applicable plain text displays as smiles.
Display Group
Select which group you want displayed in your profile.
Dates and Times
Sets how you would prefer to see timestamps.
Delete Forum Account
In Privacy you can choose whether to show details such as Gender, Birthdays, Emails, or even to be Invisible, meaning you can be online without other users seeing your status. You can even block certain users if you feel it is necessary.
Notifications contains a series of settings so that you can choose to be alerted by Message online and/or by email whenever a posting is made that meets your specifications.
All of these tabs will require you to save your changes via a button at the foot of the screen
