Here is a poll that is not about Sussex or the game in general, but is about this forum. When we took it over from Sussex CCC in May we inherited the structure and the look and feel of the board. We've started to make a few changes, which we hope the majority of users like, and we've also introduced some features in our posting content which seem to have been successful - after all, we have now totalled nearly 400, 000 page views, almost 6,000 unique posts across more than 200 threads and our membership continues to grow.
But we want to hear from you about what works and how it could be done better. Between now and Christmas we would like every member who visits this site - particularly our loyal, silent ones who look in on most days but seldom or never post - to tell us by their votes what sort of things work well now, and to give us guidance on how to shape it's development in the future. Vote for as many categories as you wish and post to tell us of anything else you favour.
Thanks to you all and a merry Christmas.

As I write, there are 14 guests on his board. If you enjoy this board, please just take half a minute to click a few boxes in this poll. Thanks - much appreciated.

Many thanks, flashblade, but our rules require Guests to join as Members before they can post or vote in our polls. That said, may I amend your kind suggestion to: Guests, if you like what you see, please come and join us, vote in the poll, and contribute to everyone's future enjoyment.

Pehaps give the poll it's own unique billing on the title page?
Possibly a bit lost and buried as item six in a list of topics under the heading 'Geneal Cricket Chat' ?

Sorry, Mod1 - I'd forgotten guests can't participate. I was thinking that those that don't want to 'put pen to paper' might still be tempted to tick a few boxes!

On the whole I think the level of debate on this board is intelligent and civilised. That is a rare thing in most message boards.I do not see the need for any change but perhaps threads could be "tidied up" as they have a habit of going off topic.

Thanks for your comments, leedsgull and your point is well noted.
To all other viewers of this forum, please take the time to poll for the things you like and to tell us of the things that could be done better or added. We will use this to develop this forum in the new year in the ways you tell us are most important.

Thanks all for the polling and the comments. Though a smaller number voted than in previous polls, the spread of votes between the various options is interesting. You've told us that you find the meaty discussions on membership and finance even more interesting than the flow of comments generated by a match in progress. You've told us that you like, more or less equally, discussion about weighty issues of the game, news and speculation about the moves of players, and interviews and anecdotes about the people in the game. All of that adds up to a wide spread of interests and suggests that the structure of the board is developing along the lines you want it to. The only area you considered of low interest is the technical section, and that obviously tells us how fluent and computer-savvy you all are! We want to continue to make the forum reflect the interests of its membership and polls like this one help us to supplement what is sometimes implied in postings. In particular, although we don't know how individuals voted in detail, it is good to see that several of those who took part in this poll were silent or very occasional posters to the board. Thanks for your regular attendance throughout 2014 and we hope to keep on meeting your interests as we grow during next year.
